It was really neat (but cooooold) to stand out near the track and feel the energy as the dogs flew past. They are such incredible athletes.
We did the buffet. So much food and all good, especially the dessert table!
It was greyt to touch base with everyone there and meet a few new folks. I took some pics but need to brush up my skills at action shots. Maybe Mark will post some!
Now, there is this 57lb. red female I want you all to cross your fingers for. Don't know if she's going to another track or adoption. Jd Kilter was my pick in the 7th race. Very scientific pick on my part. We have the same birthday! She won $24.80 for GPA! Hope you find a good couch, Kilter! _________________ Kathleen, MollyCrackers(Very good girl!), Neva(Marie Saint),Ketzel(Princess Kitty),Frandsen(sweet rabbit), Bridge Babies...Bonus (In my heart & at the Bridge), Smiley(Our first), Alexee Lou(The happiest girl!) and more sweeties waiting there. I would really have liked to be there. It's a really sad feeling for me for a lot of reasons - my babies raced at 4 different tracks and now all of them are closed, Twiz started her career at Dairyland and her mom was a star there, when it opened Dairyland was one of the top tracks and now it's gone. I'm also sad for all the people who lost jobs, and sad that greyhounds have now lost another safe haven - in WI they were protected from the awful things that can happen to them in other states.
I am very proud, though, to be associated with a group like GPA-WI who always puts the dogs first and it makes me very proud to be able to tell people who ask me about the Dairyland dogs that they will all find homes due to the work of GPA-WI and many other groups _________________ Cheryl with
